Welcome to our self designed and (mostly) self built house! Beyond cost savings, this DIY adventure lets us explore our creativity, unveiling what truly makes a house our home. For the living room, we built our own TV feature wall, shoe cabinets, dining table and bay window seats. The false ceiling and electricals was outsourced. A clean and sleek look for our living room, achieved by designing our TV feature wall to be one big seemingly seamless panel with no cables in sight! Introducing soft curves in our carpentries - not an easy feat for first time carpenters! Installed LED strips to illuminate our home with vibrant hues, accentuate textures, and highlight the beauty of each space. A seamless blend of design and utility, our bay window seats conceals cleverly integrated storage spaces. Well thought space, even for our robot vacuum! When designing our bay window seats, we came up with the idea of a nook for our little helper to return to. Controlled by Alexa, the robot vacuum will operate daily automatically, returning to its own home - and closing the doors after it! Where did it go! We rendered and designed the kitchen ourself - but ultimately engaged the professionals for this as we felt that the kitchen is more exposed to elements - water/heat etc. and should be more durable. A delightful view down our corridor, offering a subtle peek into the heart of our living room. (feat. lights) We also made our own paintings to decorate the walls of our living room and bedroom. Probably the easiest project of all! Side by side PC set up so we can screen each other when gaming!
