How do you usually organise your cleaning supplies?
If you're still keeping them inside deep cupboards and drawers - YOU NEED A CLEANING CART ASAP!
We keep all our supplies in this trolley from IKEA because it has wheels. So this means we wheel it around the house to whichever part of the house we need to clean, without having to carry bottles and rags back and forth.
Plus - if you happen to spill/dirty anything, it's easy to unscrew the different trays so that we can give them a complete wipe down. Much better than having to stick our heads into a cupboard and clean stained laminate IMO.
The bottom tier of the trolley/cart is where we keep all the solutions that come in bottles - sanitising sprays, glass cleaners, tile cleaners, toile cleaning solution, etc etc
A lot of these spray bottles also tend to leak/have drips (especially for those we use when washing the toilet) so we lined the bottom of the tray with a plastic liner from IKEA that helps to keep any liquids from dripping through and prevents rust.
We learned this lesson a little too late though - there's a small section of the tray that already rusted OOPS.
The second level of the trolley is where we keep our laundry-related items (laundry beads, laundry colour catcher sheets, extra laundry pods and our friendly sponge detangler).
We also have this jar of used toothbrushes that we use for cleaning - more about how these toothbrushes have come in super helpful in a future post!
This level is also where we keep our cloth refills for our robot vacuum and mop.
We added this Norrava bamboo lid to the top tray (PS the lid is a perfect fit designed for the Raskog trolley!) so that we can use the tray as storage for some of our extra supplies - wet wipes, brand new cleaning cloth and other random items.
We wish IKEA would come up with a variation of this lid that is not bamboo though - maybe plastic or even metal? We've had the bamboo lid for a while and it's starting to look a little worrying mouldy in a few tiny corners.
The top of our cart contains our most frequently used items - a little container with lots of extra plastic bags for holding trash and lining our bins, as well as our all purpose Method Spray and a sanitiser spray.
(We also used to keep bug spray here when we had a particularly nasty couple of encounters with bugs, which have thankfully disappeared since then.)
And this is our little cleaning cart when it's not in use - parked nicely beside our pipes and laundry basket in the service yard! The space seems to be made just for this cart LOL.
If you've read our previous posts, you'll also know that our service yard is pretty exposed to the elements because we didn't install windows. We're not really concerned about some rain getting onto the cart and the items - because rain can't be more dirty than the parts of our house we're cleaning with these things right!
The trolley is also pretty old (close to 10 years old now!) and has been through its fair share of wear and tear so we're not super concerned if it gets a little wet or dirty.
It has been holding up pretty well though - another one of those great IKEA products HAHA.
Hope this post inspires you to make a cleaning supplies cart as wel!
