This is the vanity-meets-entertainment corner in the common bedroom, designed for the Mrs. Two standout features define this space: the statement wallpaper and the charming pink antique sewing machine table.
The antique sewing machine table is especially meaningful, as it was part of a wedding gift my grandfather gave my mum when she got married. To give it a new lease on life, I had the base professionally cleaned and painted pink. It was then topped with a custom laser-cut marble slab, repurposed from the tabletop of a marble coffee table that was a much-loved fixture in my childhood home.
Blending two cherished family furniture into one functional piece makes this corner all the more special, preserving precious memories while giving them a functional usage in our home.
Besides these, a LG StanbyME 2—a rechargeable, movable TV stands ready in the corner, offering the flexibility to enjoy entertainment from anywhere in the room.
The wallpaper is another treasured feature with a story of its own. It was custom-ordered from India Circus and delivered to a dear friend’s home in Delhi before being delicately hand-carried all the way to Singapore and finally installed by a local professional from Singapore. More than just a decorative feature, it’s a cherished reminder of a meaningful friendship that now has a special place in our home ❤️
Here’s a closer look at the textured wallpaper.
Fun fact: even after factoring in shipping and installation, this custom piece from India cost only about a third of what a similar wallpaper would have cost in Singapore. Better yet, the quality exceeded our expectations.
