Welcome to our little sanctuary — where wabi sabi meets Balinese soul. Think imperfect beauty, earthy textures, and calm in every corner. This safe haven was a space that we've prayed for. We self-designed this home, to feel like a slow morning. To have barefoot walks and coffee or tea that turns into conversations. From our soft lime-washed walls that runs all over the house walls to sun-warmed wood tones, we leaned into softness — in structure, in space. Here’s a quiet tour of the details that turned this house into our safe, glowing haven. We designed our entryway to have a built-in mirror cabinet in tinted glass adds both elegance and utility, giving us a final moment to check in with ourselves before stepping out. The heart of our home, softened in earth tones and curved lines. We built this space for rest with shelves tucked into an arched wall niche, and a matching sofa you can sink into. The textures are raw yet comforting, echoing the imperfect harmony of wabi sabi. Every item here is intentional, from handmade ceramics to our personal achievements throughout the years, small yet meaningful for us to appreciate and look back on. Warm wood, gentle light, and conversation. Our dining space borrows heavily from Balinese textures, open, and inviting. Rattan-backed chairs and a statement woven pendant set the tone for meals that feel unhurried. It’s not just about eating here; it’s about connecting. We spend the most time here with our friends and families - and believe it or not, we once spent 9 hours just sitting here and talking and reminiscing with our friends. A quiet prep zone, just off the main kitchen. This area became a favourite for all our coffee and tea rituals when the morning starts. The extended counter doubles as a casual bar, while the under-shelf lighting warms the space. It’s a moment of calm in the flow of daily life. Featuring our breakfast table - a space that we spend most of the time eating here when it's just the two of us. Our little nook. A balance of form and function. We wanted our kitchen to feel tucked away but still open. With framed glass partitions, we kept it bright and airy while giving it its own character. Smooth stone counters and dark cabinetry provide a beautiful contrast to the surrounding neutrals, grounding, modern, and built for real cooking. We kept to warm neutral tones throughout the kitchen, pairing it with classic farmhouse-style elements for a cozy, grounded feel. Our hood, hob, and knife set from SMEG add both function and charm — subtle details that elevate without overpowering. Strength meets simplicity. One of the most spoken about spaces in our home. Clean mirrored walls expand the light, and the muted limewash keeps it feeling connected to the rest of the home. It’s a no-fuss, fully equipped zone — but still grounded in the home’s overall aesthetic. A space for O to unwind and relax in his own zone. Minimal, focused, and free from clutter. A single desk line stretches across one wall, accompanied by a low rattan lounge chair for mid-day pauses. J designed this room for clarity, a place to work or create with zero distractions. Our safe haven. Designed for retreat with a full-height wardrobe in tinted glass adds modern contrast, while soft lighting flows behind a limewash accent wall. The bed rests in the middle of it all, simple, plush, and inviting. It feels like a hug at the end of the day. Clean lines, soft lighting, total calm. Here, minimalism takes center stage. Built-in lighting wraps around the wall-to-wall mirror to cast a warm, ambient glow to match our wall-to-wall seamless customise sink finishes and to tie it together. A peaceful space to begin and end each day — ritualistic and grounding. We styled the bathrooms with matching black accessories to create a cohesive, calming look with grounding the light tones with just the right touch of contrast.
