After weeks of sofa hunting across JB and Singapore, we finally found the one — our IT sofa — at Cellini @ Tan Boon Liat Tower! 🛋️
Honestly, we didn’t expect to find our perfect match here in Singapore, especially with how pricey most options have been. But this one just clicked — comfort, design, and quality all in one.
We had considered ordering from Taobao at first, but in the end, comfort won over aesthetics. It’s the piece we’ll be lounging, reading, and living on every day, so we wanted something that truly feels like home.
My husband and I have very different views when it comes to sofas. I’m all for aesthetics — if I had my way, I’d probably customise a sleek sofa with black timber. He, on the other hand, is the practical one — all logic, structure, and left-brain reasoning.
But the moment we sat on this sofa, we both knew. The comfort was undeniable — even he couldn’t resist. And the best part? He let me keep the middle timber portion that I loved so much for its design. A small victory for aesthetics, and a happy meeting point between form and function.
We actually fell in love with a sofa from another store — but at $5K, it was way out of our budget. So began the search (and the many debates). We made a few compromises on this one, because as much as we had a long list of wants, reality had its say. Still, here’s what worked for us in the end:
• Budget: We walked into the store during their discount week and managed to get this beauty for under $2K. Price was a huge deciding factor, and this felt like the perfect balance of value and quality.
• Comfort: We tried so many sofas — and this one just clicked. It’s the kind of comfort that makes you want to stay in all weekend.
• Material: We went for a custom pet-friendly fabric, so it’s both practical and forgiving (because, let’s be real, life happens).
• Design: The middle timber portion was my non-negotiable. It added that bit of character and contrast — and my husband, the practical one, finally agreed it really did complete the look.
It might seem like such a simple thing — a sofa — but there was a lot of compromise in this piece. Most of the designs I liked, he found impractical. The ones he liked? Way too bulky for my aesthetic alley. But somehow, this one became ours.
Before anyone asks — yes, we know we’re only moving in June 2025! But we’ve already done all the measurements (many times over) and planned out the floorplan down to the details.
While we’re not interior designers, we’re both pretty decisive when it comes to locking in what we want. Plus, working in the interior industry definitely helps — we’re clear on spatial requirements, circulation, and how each piece fits into the bigger picture. So when we find something that works, we’re good to go ✨✨
Side Note: Please make sure you’ve measured on site and in plan, we’ve also done our sanity checks with friends in the industry + surprised some of the IDs we’ve decided to reach out to. Everyone + Us can confirm it fits but let’s see once we actually move in next year 🤭
