Welcome~ Today's post will be about the following:
1) Paint codes
2) Laminates
3) Curtains
4) Choice of table top.
Before you continue reading, the theme of our house is cosy japandi, so all the decisions behind the paint codes/laminates/curtains/tabletop we choose will be based on this theme.
For most carpentries in the house, we choose 'loft birch' from panaplast as our laminate of choice, as japandi themes tend to have quite a lot of 'wood' elements.
We got asked many times about our limewash paint. It is from Vasari, and the name of the paint is 'Sesame'. We are very proud of our limewash as we took 3 days of leave to limewash the living room ourselves :)
This is the only mini project that we took on as a couple for this house.
Kitchen is another area of the house that have a lot of carpentries. If you bought a BTO, your kitchen is literally a blank slate, and without carpentries, you'll lose lots of storage and utility.
For our kitchen, again, we went with 'loft birch' from Panaplast. Only 1 thing we incorporated here is changing the laminate of our top cabinets. We saw our 3D render of the kitchen where it is entirely covered in 'loft birch', but the design fell quite flat, so we decided to add a pop of color on the top cabinets, and that is 'Dove white' from EDL.
For kitchen countertop, we require the following specification
1) heat resistant
2) chemical resistant
3) durable
After considering between quartz, sintered stone and kompac plus, we picked this sintered stone from VULCAN (Lian Hin). The name of this sintered stone is ‘Centurione’
Before cutting the entire slab of sintered stone, the stone is marked and shown to us before it is cut. This helps ensure that the design of the marble will be continuous and flow from the backsplash to the countertop.
Our master bedroom has a slightly different theme from the rest of the house as we wanted the room to be more modern. We splurge on wallpaper for this. This wallpaper is from the JANUS mural collection (Wallhub)
This is the entire wallpaper. It has a botanical and modern feel to it. We changed the color of the wallpaper slightly, as the original wallpaper is a bit more bluish in color. If there’s anyone out there who wants to splurge on wallpaper, you are able to amend/edit the wallpaper (like changing the contrast, the sharpness, brightness etc)
Last but not least, our curtains are from Coesa! We engaged them back when they are still End Curtains :)
They have a super wide selection of curtains, you’ll be so spoilt for choice at their showroom. Fret not, they have experts there who will recommend and show you around :)
Curtains really complete the house and a good curtain helps bring all your design together.
We hope you have found this post useful for your own renovations. Finding the right laminates, paint codes, etc can take quite some time, but the time you invest in finding the right one will really make a big difference in the overall design.
