Ultimate Guide to Organising Every Corner of Your Home.

Let's talk organisation! It helps to keep the house neat and tidy in many sense. This is one way of maintaining cleanliness and keeping the home looking fab all the time. First up, it's the customised cutlery tray. I had it customised to the exact dimensions of the drawer. The ones in SG where the extendable versions which I do not want as dirt may get stuck in between. So I went on to scout and find the appropriate vendor I needed on Taobao. The measurements and requirements were given to them and the mock up drawing was given to me within the same day. The placement and number of compartments was based on my dad's experience as a chef. The best part about customisation is that you're able to decide everything to the tiniest detail to fit your own needs. Organising the fridge is simpler when we first move in. As a SINK/DINK or SP-SINK, the items in the fridge may be way lesser than others. Maybe the amount of cooking and the number of times of cooking is also lesser than others. But, organising your items allow easy access and location when needed. These transparent plastic trays were bought from Taobao and I honestly love my previous seller. All I did was the measurements and the seller told me specifically what size. But the shop is no longer on TB, hence this tag is from another I bought from the second round. What I love about these containers is they come with small round rubber legs that prevent movement. Next up, it fits nicely in the shelving with a slight bit of gap! If you seldom cook, or take very long to finish your ingredients because you are SP-SINK, this is one of the best buys I made. It's a vacuum container which helps me store my veg and fruits for a slightly longer period of time. I tried it out in both Vakuen vacuum container and normal container, it did work well! It's neat, tidy and allows easy stacking as seen. It's not the cheapest but think about all the money you will save with lesser produce spoiling because you cannot cook or eat in time. This is how a home with no Vanity table/cupboard looks like. There isn't any vanity storage in my bathroom so everything for the face is either placed here or my refrigerator. My serums, masks or wash off masks are in the refrigerator while the dry makeup items are placed here. Generally, I don't put on much makeup to work unless formal events. Hence, my makeup items are pretty basic. These are also the same transparent plastic containers as the fridge. Likewise, the seller did a drawing for me to show me what sizes fit my drawer and it really did fit nicely. This is a reminder to self to get this section packed neatly soon. One improvement/change I made from my previous wardrobe to this current is to have more drawers that cubby holes. Cubby holes then to have dirt and dust stuck at the back. Clothes tucked all the way at the back will also be forgotten by you but not by small pests. For now, I'm sorting my active wear, lingerie and towels using this linen storage open box. It allows sorting of tops, bottoms, colours, sleeves or sleeveless etc. Due to the space for long dresses, I only have 1 small cubby hole in my entire wardrobe. That's where I place other drawers to fill the space. I took some time to eventually decide what to place inside but I believe it will change over time based on living habits. Tea/coffee sachets have to be placed neatly too. By storing them in such containers allows easy identification and also an indication to whether stocks are running low. I do not have a large tea collection. But if you do, there are more you can buy to stack on! This is also placed inside my drawer and not outside to ensure a clean tabletop space. Here comes the most unglamorous section of the home - bombshelter. This is the part that is tucked and hidden from everyone. These drawers were bought long ago from Japan Home to store all my crafts and art. Some of the bigger boxes also stores the extra toiletries. With the common bathroom having a standalone sink with no cabinet, storage of items now comes into the bombshelter or under the sink. The different drawers store all my different types of pens/brushes. Yes, it's a crazy collection. There are brush pens, markers, water brushes, chalk markers, chalk pencils, stamps, inks, calligraphy pens, nibs, paints etc. I took the longest to pack and sort out all these! The next step is to label each drawer! In my bigger drawers, I have palettes, bottles of ink, brushes, pads of watercolour paper, card stock, MT tapes etc. It allows easy identication and all craft items are stored neatly. These stackable/foldable boxes are one of my best buys. They are not cheap but you will use them almost forever. I bought those that allows opening from every side for easy access of items. This portion is one of my WIP sorting corner as well. These boxes are where I store my extra daily bags, backpacks, storybooks, certifications etc. The smaller boxes are old buys from Daiso used to store my 24819 pairs of shoes. Now that I cut down the number of pairs I own, the extra boxes are used to store food grade gloves, extra cloths or random items. Lastly, this section is right underneath my peninsula at my entryway. This is how and where I store my shoes. The extra pairs which I seldom where or only during occasions are stored in the bottom of my DB box cabinet. Likewise, these boxes are from Daiso. The boxes prevents the dust and dirt to be on the shelving directly. When cleaning, I just have to wipe down the shelving and wash the boxes. This is also one big reason why I do not use the shoe stacker organiser. There are many ways of organising items at home based on how we live. How do you organise and sort yours?
