1. Opening of our MBR wardrobe.
We wanted the opening to be from the centre of the L so that we can easily reach the corner. ID said this needs additional $600. We only know it’s because of additional work needed but still don’t understand why so, because isn’t the length the same?
The inner of the wardrobe looks like this (this pic is missing a shelve above bottom poles). We wanted this as it’s much easier to access the corner!
The downside is you have to open one side of the door before opening the other. For us, we need to open the door on the right before we open the one on the left.
2. Floor to ceiling carpentry
ID said need to add strengthener if not the door will warp so we had to pay additional $200 for the strengthener.
Also would like to highlight that the full piece laminates are up to 2.4m in height. We had false ceiling done so that’s why it was within 2.4m otherwise we would have to split into 2 laminates and won’t be able to achieve a clean look.
3. Curved shower screen
$110 more for this small curve. I understand carpentry curves are more expensive because of extra work needed and extra material used for the curve. But I expected that glass shower screen would have to be cut to fit the length and height even without curve. And that there would be some kind of “stencil” to cut the curve so there shouldn’t be additional cost.
