Our preference for oak furniture throughout the apartment sets the tone for a warm and welcoming mood. But we added other decorative elements to make the space even cosier. For lighting, we chose a dimmable track light by Artilux for the living room so that we can adjust the level of warm lighting for a cosier feel. Another perspective of our living room! We added the fluffiest faux peonies from our flower shop (@bloomroomsg, on hiatus) to soften the look of our living space. Choosing realistic faux flowers or plants, with bendable branches that can mimic the real deal, can be a convenient and effective choice for indoor, sunless spots. At a corner of the living room, we added this IKEA Lauters Floor Lamp to add a warm, inviting glow in the evenings. A faux houseplant in a rattan plant stand from Potta Plantta complements it. We really love the #RestoRescueByLikeLights series, where used plates and bowls are "rescued" from restaurants and cafes who are changing concepts or liquidating to create one-of-a-kind wall sconces. Ours is the Terracotta Ceramic Sconce, and is set on a wooden feature panel that leads the way into the rest of the house. The terracotta hue matches our Dekton Umber kitchen island countertop perfectly. From our living room, we could look out to our balcony. As we included concrete ventilation blocks at a corner, we had to consciously soften the overall look and feel of the space. Enter the variety houseplants from The Nursery and Homegrown by BNC and a lounge chair from Taobao to liven up the area. The CS-Malt tiles also adds a layer of warmth to the space. It has become a perfect spot to sip our morning tea. We love the Mold-Resistant Venetian Blinds from Everyday Curtains - we could adjust the slats easily to let in the amount of light we prefer. It's also easy to clean as it's made of fauxwood. As we're required to install window grilles :( , we opted for these slim window grilles by Pang Giap to let in more light. We could never seem to keep fresh marigolds thriving, so we got this textural marigold wreath by local homeware designer Pudgy & Sprout. It is inspired by marigold flowers and instantly adds a special warmth anywhere it’s placed.
