Hello! Welcome to our new home! We moved in not too long ago, just slightly under a month, but we are loving our new home! The inspiration for our home follows a contemporary modern theme, however we knew we wanted our home to feel cozy. Hence we went with a walnut theme that sets the tone throughout our home! This first picture is our kitchen together with a pantry area! This is our house floor 4-rm layout plan! From the previous picture of our kitchen, you’ll notice that we made the decision to knocked down the wall separating the living area from the kitchen. We wanted to open the space up which makes the house feel less boxy. And it also invites more natural light into the area. For our kitchen countertop, we chose to match the walnut laminate with a cream quartz countertop! We spent a long time making the decision because we’re afraid it wouldn’t match the laminate. But we’re thankful because it not only matches but it soften the look of the kitchen as well! We added a walnut ledge above our pantry to house pictures, and different kinds of glass and vase! We love the decorating our house with things we like! And it gives a certain rustic characteristic too! We installed a full length cabinet to hide the bomb shelter door! We used the cabinet as storage for our shoes and other items such as utility tools! We also chose concrete-like vinyl tiles as the grey surprisingly works well with our walnut laminates! We bought a black sofa to give a modern contemporary vibe to the living area! But in order to blend the sofa together with the house, we also got a glasstop coffee table to match the vibe of the sofa. And the walnut bottoms of the coffee table nicely ties the furniture back to the main walnut vibe of the house! We absolutely love this TV console we got from Taobao! It has little bits of metal and black which hints at the modern contemporary vibe, together with the coffee table and sofa, yet not being so over the top that it takes away from the main vibe of the house! This is one of our favourite pieces in our home! This is our master bathroom! We continued the same walnut theme carpentry and also the same quartz countertop, so it feels as though every part of the house tells the same story! For our master bathroom, we added a kitkat feature wall to give it a distinct character! And to bring more attention to the feature wall, we included a stone-like wall light! We also added more walnut theme items like the mirror, and also the towel holder, to build on the walnut story. This is our common bathroom which carries similar elements of walnut in the carpentry! We love the wall tiles which has a stone-swirly like kind of pattern! This is our master bedroom! It is bare for now as we havent bought all our bedroom items, but we will update this space in due time! We installed a full-length and width walnut wardrobe as we knew we would be needing the space! We also have the same vinyl flooring, which runs throughout the house as we didnt want any part of the house to feel different! Keep a look out for this space we call home as we will be updating the space in time to come!
