In 2017, we were ready to apply for a flat together. First thing was did was to confirm the areas available in the next BTO launch and we shortlisted the only one in the east - Tampines. We applied as first timers and got queue number 492 out of 2000+ units. This meant we could have a good pick of the available units. Our criteria included: ☑️ 4-room ☑️ 10th floor or higher ☑️ Corner unit/a distance away from the lift ☑️ Not facing a main road ☑️ Not too far from a bus stop Super happy we managed to tick off all criteria and even picked the highest floor unit. We got really lucky on our first try.

Covid delayed our project’s completion date but thankfully that gave us more time to prepare on our home renovation. We met our ID of choice after connecting with 8 IDs and began material selection and using 3D renders to get as close to the look of our dream home as possible.

We also considered our living habits to ensure we fully utilize storage space and appliances. For built-ins, we placed more thought into the spilts and material used as they are not as easy to change up. For loose furniture, we opted for less expensive pieces so we can more easily change up in the future. Our home is also in more neutral tones and we can decorate each space with different colours or setup.
