Our bathroom on a budget - thanks to taobao

Our bathrooms came with standard HDB tiles, floorings and shower fittings which we kept to save cost. The main works completed include the toilet vanity, shower screen, and basic fixtures. Here’s our master bathroom — we had the vanity custom-built by a carpenter. It was a bit pricier at around $700, but we feel the quality makes it well worth the cost. 
Catered for a niche at the side to put our toilet papers and essentials when needed 
We never knew toilet fixtures were so expensive locally until we started sourcing from it. Bought the sink and gun metal tap from Taobao, and we got to say, the quality is amazing and price is so affordable too. 
For our master bedroom toilet, we opted for a full-height shower screen, but decided not to fully enclose the area to avoid it feeling too cramped. 
Next up, our common toilet. 
This vanity cabinet cost less than S$300 and was purchased from Taobao (we took the leap of faith!) Our carpenter helped fit it in seamlessly. We love the sintered stone material and the wabi-sabi inspired design. 
We also did a half wall with 2 niches to store our toiletries. 
Other toilet accessories that came from Taobao too to match the theme. Overall, we’re really pleased with how everything came together. Most items were sourced from Taobao, keeping things budget-friendly yet stylish. While our experience was smooth, it’s a good reminder to shop mindfully and do your research when buying online.
