We honestly went through alot of thoughts when it came to our home reno. After 10 months of living in, without a doubt, these are our 4 biggest reno regrets in no particular order but the biggest one is #4. #1 Our very pretty master bathroom has been a nightmare to maintain with the light coloured floor tiles. 10/10 will not recommend hahaha Please choose a darker floor tiles so you cant see the dust, hair, and grime!

#2 No Settee We didnt think much when we said we wanted a pantry here. The main purpose was to future proof the house when we wanted glass panels to close up the kitchen. This carpentry will allow us the space to store the glass panels at the side in the future! What we didn't expect is that the pantry would be so huge? we probably expected its width to be only half the size. Even our ID was shocked when we first saw the carpentry installed! Given a choice we would have definitely halves the width and opt for a settee instead so that we can sit and wear our shoes!

#3 Kitchen Floor Tiles We are not big on wasting materials and the look of the HDB given kitchen tiles looked like it matches our kitchen very well. And it did. The only gripe we have is that there are stains from the renovation on the tiles that cannot be removed. Also the grout done by HDB was horrendous. We probably got them to touch up 2 more times but it still wasn't uniform grout colour. (some white some grey). We gave up after that and decided to live with it. I stare at it sometimes now wondering if it would have been worth redoing...

#4 The biggest regret of all time is not changing both our toilet doors. As we mentioned earlier, we were not big on wastage of materials. Even the sanitary fittings we didnt want, we sold or gave them away (other than miscom w our ID who ended up disposing some of them). We kept the toilet doors thinking they fit the theme and we didn't want to hack and spend extra on doors but WE SHOULD HAVE!! The HDB toilet doors are noisy, and not intuitive. So many times guests struggle with the doors and the most worrisome is when our grandma use the toilet. We have to constantly remind her not to lock it because it would be almost impossible to help her get out if she didnt know how to unlock it. Knowing we didn't spend above our budget for our reno then, we really should have changed our doors. A regret we will live with for now but not for long! (I hope)
