These are our very first pieces of furniture within our home 14 years ago. Sturdy solid wood stools from IKEA. One has been a bedside table. 
The other is a plant and toothbrush stand. 
And the last is enjoying its retirement life below the easel with pretty much nothing to do now. IKEA has also discontinued the making of this stool. An antique in the making I supposed 🙃. So if you are thinking about getting furniture that lasts, solid wood would be your best bet!
