hello to one of our most frequented space 🫶🏼
unlike most bto, our proj doesn’t come with a service yard
hence, the space was automatically shrink down even smaller as we needed to share our kitchen space with laundry ☹️
boo, I was lowkey sad about it
anyway, prior to taking these photos, I did minimal clean up!
this is an everyday look of our kitchen 🙌🏻
we adopt a semi-open, semi-close kitchen
❓why semi-open
bcos it doesn’t have a door to the kitchen
& husb enjoy cooking/ preparing meals
having a open kitchen allows him to interact while preparing
also, it helps me to bring out the food when he’s done easier 🤭
❓ why semi-close
it’s not entirely an open kitchen
it’s like an enclosed kitchen without door LOL
this is actl ideal for us bcos food smell wont travel into our living space ✌🏼
😚 also, we love the long prep space for food
we didn’t choose to hide our plug in the cabinet bcos we didn’t want the wires to dangle
altho now the wire still dangles, we feel that the plug should be placed lower and turn it upside down
(saw a tiktok video about it but I didn’t comm it clearly)
& that food handing container?
💯 helps us to save some space
I love it to be honest
here’s the other side of the kitchen prep space 🙌🏻
✔️ fridge ✔️ oven ✔️ open shelving
we love this layout bcos …
1. guest can easily access the fridge (no pressure on their end)
2. convenient for the one who is cooking/ prepping food
out from the fridge, turn around, onto the countertop
out from the airfryer, turn around, onto the countertop
out from the over, turn around, onto the countertop/ above stove
you gets 😂
3. our bowls are also stored below the countertop for easy access
4. deep open shelving to store lots of things & for us, airfryer is our key item
what we love about this corner:
🥹 mid-body height oven placement
most have their oven placed below the stove = needing to squat to remove/ place the oven tray in
now, we j need to bend slightly!
(& boy, life changing bcos we use the oven quite a bit!)
‼️ also I lowkey regret didn’t insist on a pull out tray for the open shelving. husb thinks it’s unnecessary but damn I’m sure he is regretting his decision rn
this kitchen space is being shared with our laundry needs
there’s many fav parts to this space …
1. robo cleaner placement
2. open shelving in terracotta & teal
all thanks to my ID 🫶🏼
- we initially wanted to get the dreame ultra series but ID advised us to get the master’s & he planned our carpentry to house this in!
- we had to resort to open shelving to accommodate our Steigen & our ID clearly insert terracotta & teal tiles for us since we use these tiles for our bathroom
best ID ever 😚
the reveal of our dish rack!
I think most house has their drying rack above the sink but we chose ours to be next to it!
✅ pros
• dont have to lift it up
(won’t drip down our hands)
• clean look
(can’t see what’s on the rack)
❌ cons
• limited space
• forgot to put the plates and bowls back
(couldn’t see, couldn’t rmb)
husband wanted it next to the sink
though there’s cons, we will defo still do the same in our next house
nothing much here, j wna feature my
✔️ automatic soaps dispenser
(yes it can dispense both dishwashing liquid & hand soap)
✔️ very cute sponge holder
✔️ mini bin for days during light cooking
✔️ food trash net bin holder
✔️ diatomite mat
finally, 👋🏻 hello 👋🏻 to our hand towel
I planned the hand towels so all the areas with hand towels have the same theme 😂 very extra, I know
alrighto, thanks for reading my kitchen diary 🥹
