Hotel-Vibes Light & Dark Theme Bathrooms✨
58
We choose to go with a light theme for the common bathroom to match the house. We went with an integrated sintered stone sink for both bathrooms. This sintered stone here is the same as our island, while the sink has a slanted design. With this kind of sink design, we feel it will look better when its slot between 2 walls so we did a hollow block wall to also prevent water splashing onto the sink area. We also added a floating plank using laminate (costs lesser than using sintered) below to store some items like cleaning products, toilet paper, etc. Really love the whole look! With the hollow block wall erected, we were able to add an open niche here to place hand soap, diffusers, etc. The other side for the shower area opens much higher up, and we also used a different tile here. These are larger glossy tiles proposed by our ID to make the shower area stand out more! The master bathroom has a darker theme for some contrast with the common bathroom. Both bathrooms still use a white frosted glass door to match the overall tone of the house. I had quite a hard time deciding on the master bathroom door color actually - black to match the internal bathroom tones or white to match the overall house tone? 🤔 We also chose a dark sintered stone for our master sink and thank god the design is messy enough to cover any possible white stains which we were worried about with black sinks. We did a squarish design here instead of the slanted one. Just for variety LOL There is no floating plank here, but looking back it would have been good to add one here to store any items. As you can see, there is no niche in this bathroom so we can only place our items like toothbrush etc on the border of the sink 🙂↕️ But this forces us not to hoard more things I guess? For the master bathroom, we also did a full length mirror to open up the space. This is the same Rigel rainshower set in gunmetal, and as mentioned we couldn’t erect a hollow wall here due to the position of the window. So we went with a black border glass shower screen and shower ledges. We were given sintered vs. tile as option for the ledge and went with tile in the end as ID claims it is sturdier plus would be more seamless (as it is the same tile as our walls). We did a triangle shape instead of the usual curve or rectangle due to space constraints as we don’t want it to be blocking us from using the rainshower. We also did a curved drop-down shower kerb (due to our bathroom door opening/hinge position) which is so aesthetic. But no matter what, as long as there isn’t a proper shower door to enclose the area, water will still splash out onto the dry area 🥲 It really depends on how OCD you are or if you do not care!
