My husband is a software architect. During the COVID pandemic, he worked full-time from home. He purchased a desk and chair for a comfortable workspace. Now, he has returned to the office and only works from home one day a week, so this desk is rarely used. 
I haven't really thought about the design for the workspace in our master bedroom. We're still using our old Ikea Kallax shelf. Originally, it was black, but I painted it white to make it brighter. 
Under the desk, there's a cable management bar, so it's not cluttered. It seems like buying a desk with cable management is essential, especially for those who use multiple screens. 
The advantage of open shelves is that you can style them according to your taste and needs. Combine them with boxes to keep your belongings organized. 
I'm still looking for ideas for the wall treatment – whether to paint it or use wallpaper. What do you think is better?
