Hi again! 👋 Today, we're excited to share a little behind-the-scenes look at how we actually use our living room—our everyday know-how—and all the little details that make it work for us. Designing a beautiful space is one thing, but making sure it’s functional and comfortable for daily life is a whole different story. That’s why today, we’re giving you a closer look at the practical side of our living room—how we live in it, what features we love most, and some thoughtful details that really help the space feel complete. From smart storage solutions (because clutter is not our thing 🙈) to cozy corners where we can relax after a long day, everything in this space was planned with purpose. We’ll also share a few must-have elements we added during the renovation, and how they’ve made a big difference in our day-to-day life. 
Let’s start with one of our favorite features: the bay window with built-in drawers. 🌧️🪟 This area does double duty as both a cozy seating spot and a smart storage solution. We designed it with practicality in mind—especially knowing how easy it is to forget to close the windows when it rains! 😅 To avoid water damage, we chose a compact surface material for the top of the bay window. It’s waterproof and durable, making it perfect for those unpredictable downpours. So even if the rain sneaks in, we won’t have to worry about swelling or damage. As for the storage, we went with drawers instead of cabinets—mainly because they’re much easier to open and access, especially for everyday items. Whether it’s storing extra cushions, cables, or small living room essentials, everything stays neatly hidden yet easily reachable. 
Just behind our living room is my husband's workspace—a space that needed to feel both private and open at the same time. 💻🚪 He wanted a room that could be visually connected to the rest of the home, but still offer enough quiet to concentrate, especially since our little one often watches TV in the living area. So after exploring a few options, we decided that a glass door was the best solution. It creates that sense of openness while still giving him his own dedicated zone. The challenge? Finding a glass door with decent soundproofing. Not all glass is created equal, and we quickly learned that most standard ones just wouldn't block enough noise. After a lot of searching, we finally found the right one—a higher-quality glass door designed mostly for condominium balconies. It’s sealed at both the top and bottom, which helps with soundproofing significantly. Although it was pricier than typical glass doors, the investment was absolutely worth it. Now, even when our son is watching his favorite shows in the living room, my husband can still focus without being constantly distracted. A win for peace and productivity! 
Another thoughtful detail in our living room: a dedicated spot for our robot vacuum. 🤖✨ Since this little gadget wasn’t part of our original plan, I had to roughly measure and design a space for it before the renovation. We knew it would come later, but I wanted to make sure we had a designated place to keep it out of sight yet easily accessible. 
One more thing we love about our living room design: the cabinet that hides away all sorts of items. 🎯📦 Behind this cabinet, we’ve managed to tuck away quite a few things—things that could easily clutter the space if left out in the open. Not only does it keep everything looking neat, but it actually helps with soundproofing too! Since we placed the cabinet along a wall that connects to the living room and my husband’s workspace, the items stored inside actually work to absorb sound, making the living area feel quieter and more peaceful. It's a clever way to use storage as a multi-functional solution—keeping our space organized while also improving acoustics. 
Let’s talk about our TV console and why it looks a little different from the typical setup. 📺✨ We knew from the beginning that we might want to switch to a projector in the future. After researching different projector setups, we discovered that most modern projectors project from the player up to the screen, rather than having the player sit on a traditional TV stand. This led us to reimagine how the console would work long-term. To make this transition as seamless as possible, we designed the console with a special drawer system. When we’re ready to use the projector, we can simply pull out the drawer to reveal the projector player, and then easily set up the screen. It’s a great way to future-proof our living room without sacrificing style or functionality in the meantime. It’s small, but thoughtful features like this that make the space work for us—both now and in the future. 
Now, let’s take a look behind the TV console, where things get a little more techy. 🎮⚡ My husband’s a big gamer, so we’ve got plenty of gadgets and power cords to manage. That’s why we made sure to install multiple power sockets behind the console to keep everything powered up and organized. From gaming consoles to controllers and charging docks, there’s no shortage of devices in our living room! 😅 We also made sure the design kept everything hidden and neat, so no wires are hanging around or disrupting the clean look of the space. It's all about keeping things tidy while giving my husband easy access to all the tech he loves. It’s a bit of a tech hub back there, but it's definitely working for our family and ensuring that all his gadgets are always ready for action! 
Our living room has truly become our cozy haven, especially with a special corner that's perfect for unwinding. 😌✨ The cosy corner has quickly become our favorite spot to relax and recharge after a long day! However, we did run into a little hiccup... 😅 The armchair we picked out, while super comfy, ended up being a bit of a challenge when it comes to arranging the space. It’s just a little tricky to access certain areas and grab items we need...but hey, a small price to pay for the comfort it brings! 🙃 Overall, we’ve made the most of the space by incorporating lots of concealed storage solutions. 🧳💡 We love how everything is tucked away neatly, creating a clean, clutter-free vibe while still having everything we need right at hand!
