Welcome to TheKhooPlace! This is the start of our home sharing journey. We are tucked away in Bidadari in our 1,000sqft 4-Room BTO, which was completed and started handing out keys from Jan 2023. The entire renovation period was about 3 months from a bare unit without any of the OCS, for about ~$80,000. Initially the budget seemed a little high compared to other quotations we received (we spoke with 10 different ID firms!), but ultimately we knew what we wanted. We've read many reviews and heard some horror reno stories from other homeowners on their experience with other firms, and knew this would pay itself off in the months and years to come. Our entire renovation journey was indeed seamless and our ID proved to be a wizard in both design and excecution. 一分钱一分货, right? 
This was the original HDB layout, with the optional kitchen wall which we opted-out so we could build it to our desired height while maintaining the open-ness of the kitchen and living area. 
We integrated shoe cabinets into the carpentry along the entryway to conceal the bomb shelter door, ensuring a seamless entry experience. Thoughtfully oriented wardrobes in the common rooms allow for flexible future configurations. To enhance our master bedroom space, we demolished and rebuilt the wall between it and the middle bedroom, creating a spacious wall-to-wall wardrobe which blends into the room without compromising space. We partitioned up the recessed wall in the living room and created a curved arch, something which we loved and which complements the other curves in the house. 
Having an extendable dining table enables us to accommodate large groups during gatherings and the woody aesthetic adds a contrast to our creamy and neutral colour theme. 
Choosing a creamy light colour for our kitchen helps to reflect natural light and keep the space bright and inviting throughout the day. And we decided on tiles for our backsplash instead of the traditional glass option; it gives the kitchen one more layer of texture and depth. 
We transformed the wall gap into a useful niche with built-in shelves for extra storage. 
We decided on a curved glass door and mirror to match, forest green tiles for a calming vibe, and a practical concrete niche with a half-wall glass shower screen. 
Our master bedroom features a two-tone wall creating a visual separation among the four walls, while also serving as a focal point where the bed is positioned. 
A wall-to-wall mirror grants the master bathroom a sense of openness and our choice of large tiles added to the expansiveness plus its ease of cleaning. That's all for now! We can't wait to share more in the coming weeks. Photo Credits: @KeyConcept @Kellepathy
