Welcome to our little slice of calm in the East! We bought this 4BR resale flat in the East about a year ago and it was only 5 years old when we got it. From the moment we stepped in for viewing, we knew we could vibe with the place. Here’s how we make 93 square metres feel like home, sweet home. The floor plan is the typical BTO layout. Never stepping out of the holiday spirit—our home starts with a warm welcome with a jolly Santa grin! Our sunny little sanctuary—where lazy afternoons, cuddly cushions, and plant babies thrive. In this post, I’m sharing a peek into our living and kitchen areas. You’ll notice the classic Scandi elements like neutral tones and functional layouts, but we’ve added our own playful twist with pops of colour—from our plushies to quirky decor pieces scattered throughout. A little bit of everything we love—books, plants, memories, Snorlax snoring and Lapras keeping watch. Plants play such a vital role in bringing life to our home. Whether it’s a leafy green by the window or a tiny potted friend on the shelf, each one adds a layer of calm and cosiness to the space. They soften the clean lines of the Scandi aesthetic and make the rooms feel lived-in and loved. Plus, caring for them has become a quiet little joy in our daily routine—there’s something comforting about watching them grow and thrive alongside us. Compact, cosy, and coffee-ready — my favourite corner to cook and create. Our kitchen was designed with function in mind, tailored to suit the way we actually move and work in the space. We opted for a durable sintered stone countertop that holds up well to daily use and still looks sleek. While we try our best to keep things tucked neatly away in the cupboards, the reality is—daily essentials like the coffee machine, dish rack, air-fryer and toaster always find their place on the counter. It’s not perfectly minimalist, but it’s real, and it works for us. Stay tuned for more corners of our home! But for now, I hope you enjoyed this first look at where we spend most of our time—lounging, cooking, and living life one cosy moment at a time.
