WIP- planning plant corners at home

If you regularly buy or receive flowers, they’ll usually have pride of place on the dining table. It livens up meals and you get to see their colour when you come home. My husband is (unfortunately for me) very allergic to pollen, so the flowers stay off this table especially when he’s home. I did still want to have a plant element though, but we live next to the reservoir and are prone to mosquitoes so I ruled water plants out. A few months in, I was convinced by a friend to get a Click & Grow planter. The cute blue colour sealed the deal- let’s hope I make this work. 
I like how my dining room looks with the larger HDB windows. We kept this part mosquito-net free so I could still enjoy the view. I often work here and don’t need to turn on the light til it gets fully dark. I do realise it makes for extremely backlit photos though, so a little decorative or flower corner here will be a work in progress. I’d love any suggestions! 
We painted our walls a warm sail white because our ID mistakenly had them painted purple. We haven’t hung up art but the first thing to come in was the wooden shelf thrifted from a wedding stylist’s warehouse sale and leftover caladium plants from my wedding set ups. I’d like to expand the plant corner with more wall-mounted shelves, or see what I can fit cohesively in the curve behind the sofa. A quick tip: if your windows like mine do not stretch to the edge of the house, it’s very suitable for indoor plants that don’t need full sun! 
Flowers no matter how small can liven up any space. But if you really want a statement, go for a tall branch - I dried this magnolia stem from Chinese New Year to add some curves to my mirror stack on the wall.
