✨Why we choose Veneer over Laminate✨

Welcome back! Today we’re sharing a little update on our master bedroom. A big thank you to Bedtribe for sending us this incredibly soft bedsheet — such a simple upgrade but it makes the whole room feel even cozier. 
Let’s talk materials. We love wood, and we’ve always been inspired by the calm, warm Aman-hotel vibe in Japan. After browsing countless laminate brands, we realised nothing could truly hide the joint lines we wanted to avoid. So… we went with KD panel veneer. It’s pre-finished in the factory, which means our carpenter didn’t need to do extra polishing or varnishing. The finish came out clean, smooth, and consistent. 
Storage, storage, storage. We have plenty of storage here… though honestly, we don’t fully use it yet hehe. For the lightbox feature, we used an acrylic panel and added a Honpo sticker on top to create a softer, diffused glow. 
Fluted panel magic. Our fluted panels are fully customised using the same KD veneer, so no more stress matching laminate to ready-made fluted pieces. The result? Seamless edges, no black joint lines, and everything blends beautifully. Yes, laminate + paint can hide joints too, but over time it may fade or peel — that’s why veneer was a better long-term choice for us. 
The bedding drawer. This drawer was meant for our bedsheets… but it’s completely full now. No more sheet-shopping for a while hehe. 
Overall… we’re really pleased. This room truly feels like our own little hotel escape — something we always miss whenever we travel. Home, but better. ✨
