We’ve shared our aircon box-up setup in our BTO group, and quite a few people were curious—so here’s the breakdown. 5 A/C units in a 4-room flat might sound excessive. However, with our open-concept layout that connects the dining, kitchen, service yard, and walkways to our rooms, it’s been a total lifesaver. Having 2 main units lets us cool down the entire home much faster—super useful when guests come over.
The box-up: some asked if it’s really necessary, and if you care about aesthetics, you probably won’t like the sight of random aircon trunking snaking across your walls. Planning your aircon locations early can save you from headaches later.
We went with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries for our units:
Bedrooms
Compressor: SCM60YSS-W X1 (28K CU)
3 A/C units: SRK10YVS-W7 X3 (9K each)
Living & Dining
Compressor: SCM60YS-W X1 (28K CU)
2 A/C units: SRK18YVS-W7 X1 (18K Living) +
SRK13YVS-W7 X1 (12K Dining)
We went with our dad’s friend, “uncle michael aircon” who has been in the A/C industry for years, and honestly, we’re so pleased with the results. If you’re looking for a direct A/C contractor (instead of going through ID/retail), DM me—I’ll be more than happy to share the contact!
