Hey everyone! Be sure to check out our earlier post as this is a continuation! We want to share some of our lifesaving home purchases that our parents’ homes never had. These are small upgrades, but they make a huge difference in daily life and we highly recommend them!
Top pick #3: Having a Mini Washing Machine! ✨
We got this mini washing machine and after two months, we are happy to share that it is still working well. (We were honestly a bit scared it wouldn’t be compatible with our local setup, but just know that you need to get a China-compatible socket converter.) It is noisy during the fast-spin mode, about 68 decibels, but still manageable. To keep things simple, we designated the left side for underwear and the right side for socks, which we remember as “US.”
The main reason we got this was for hygiene, to separate intimate clothing from the larger laundry loads. So far, it has been perfect for that purpose. Beyond hygiene, it is also incredibly convenient! Having a small dedicated machine saves time and keeps laundry organized without having to wait for a full load in the main washing machine.
You can also use both compartments at the same time!
This is how the inside of our washing machine looks! Can fit about 4 to 5 undergarments and 3 to 4 pairs of socks. Honestly we are bad examples because we definitely do not follow the recommended laundry load LOL we just want to save some time 😅
We use a super low-suds detergent, just like in our main washing machine and we have been reusing old cleansing bottles to press the detergent liquid in.
The machine comes with different modes, and we usually pick the first option for underwear since it needs a deeper clean. If items are very soiled, a rinse beforehand helps.
For socks, we usually go for the gentle cleaning mode at a lower temperature, which we learnt helps to keep their elasticity!
Occasionally, we will run a quick 7 minute wash to clean the internal barrel.
Remember you need to get a China-compatible socket converter!
