Confession time - when we designed our bathroom, we envisioned something really minimalist and clean. Yknow, with just two matching toothbrushes and aesthetic mugs :)
Everything else would be nicely hidden away... or so we thought.
So here's an unfiltered look at our master bathroom vanity + all the clutter that comes with it, so you don't repeat our mistakes and remember to allocate space for all your things
two toothbrushes and two mugs?
Who are we kidding :')
We forgot about face soap, retainers, contact lenses, contact lens solution, etc... this is how the top of our originally minimalist shelf became home to a whole bunch of products.
We have a cabinet, but these are items we use everyday (and sometimes get wet) so we don't want to keep them in the cabinet where they could potential become mouldy, or make other items mouldy.
We also bought a foam/waterproof mat for our items to prevent water from dripping onto the carpentry.
As for the cabinet, here's what's inside it!
We have a random plastic tub on the left to contain our refillables and large items (e.g refill packs for soap and shampoo). The plastic tub helps to contain any leaks and drips from the refill packs and also keep all of them together in one place.
On the other side, we have a smaller acrylic set of drawers to contain smaller restocks like contact lenses, razors, etc.
And of course, we've also got our slurpy bear dehumidifier and extra toilet roll (100% must have) on top of the drawers.
We also go the extra mile to satisfy our OCD-ness by labelling the drawers with our label printer! This one in particular contains all the random travel-sized items and product samples we have, which makes packing for trips really convenient.
We paid a lot of money for this cabinet (LOL fell for the whole ID-customised thingy) so we have to protect it at all costs... with a waterproof liner to make sure nothing drips or spills or stains the bottom of the cabinet.
Our prefered line is the Variera ones from IKEA - they're not always the easiest to cut, but they are pretty thick, durable and have a non-slip effect too.
And that's a quick summary of all the things we keep in our bathroom cabinet! It didn't seem like much when we moved in, but as the years go by... we've somehow ended up with lots of things we never factored into consideration - like cotton buds, extra face soap, an extra soap holder because we found a cuter one but couldn't be bothered to throw away the old one, the extra 3 face washes we bought because buying in a pack of 3 is cheaper... the list goes on.
TLDR: allocate yourself more bathroom storage space cos you'll need it!
