Hi, we’re @ourcarousellhome - so excited to be back as a returning home ambassador (last seen in S7!) and to share how our space has been quietly evolving through small but meaningful updates.
While there haven’t been any major changes around the house, we’ve made a few deliberate decisions - more on those soon!
To start, for those who’ve been following us for a while, you’ll know our home leans towards a minimal style, including the household shelter door, which we kept plain and unconcealed. Recently, we added a playful touch with magnetic alphabets, and it’s amazing how something so simple brought a bit of personality (and a smile) to an otherwise blank door.
Another small but mighty update that’s brought us a ton of daily joy: our coffee setup ☕️
We recently retired our trusty Fellow Opus (pictured above) and upgraded to the DF64 (scroll on for photo below).
After a month of use, we’re loving how fast the DF64 grinds, how consistent it is, and the near-zero retention. Mornings definitely feel a little smoother (and smell a whole lot better).
The hubs is big on diving into coffee forums and found that the DF64 is actually OEM-manufactured in China. After some research on Taobao, we landed on a seller with consistently solid reviews and decided to take the plunge. At S$391++ (excluding shipping), it’s officially our most expensive Taobao buy to date but nearly half the price of the original retail. After using it for a month, we can confidently say it was worth the risk!
In an ideal world, I’d be ending this post with a photo of our picture-perfect latte art… but here’s the honest truth: while we love brewing a good cup with our upgraded setup, the hubs is more of an espresso or iced latte kind of guy and neither of us has quite mastered the art of latte pours (haha). It also doesn’t help that we stick to non-dairy milk, which makes latte art even trickier!
So instead, here’s a photo of our latest coffee mugs from Taobao - aren’t they super cute?
That’s all for our first post back, can’t wait to rediscover this space with fresh eyes, both ours and yours.
Thanks for having us again, Communa! 💛
