    Happy Year of the Dragon everyone! We decorated slowly this year, but it added up to an overall look we are quite happy with.

    We bought some of these mini pineapple lanterns from a nearby pasar malam and used fishing line to hang them from the ceiling for a cute entrance to our home. We also used lanterns to “frame’ the entryway into our kitchen.

    Pussy Willow flowers are also a must during CNY, but we added a personal touch with handmade paper decorations. Placing the flowers in front of the mirror also serves to visually “double” the amount of flowers, making it look more abundant.

    We jazzed up the other side of our entryway by utilising a table runner to add a red base and some cute fruit containers to hold small snacks for our guests to discover.

    We also switched out the throw and the cushions on our sofa with a set of more festively appropriate ones.

    To balance the “hero” decor, we made sure the rest of our decorations were quite minimal in design. We also tried to make sure everything had the same kind of visual language (e.g no gold, no realistic dragons, cute round brush style text) to keep it from feeling overwhelming.
