Welcome to our eclectic meets mid-century 4-rm self-designed home!

Hi! It’s J + C from KRAACKHAUS 👀👋 Welcome to our little 4-rm resale, which we designed and styled ourselves! We had a vision and worked with a direct contractor (~$55k). As with any reno projects, theres bound to be hiccups here and there but it was still pretty smooth overall! We had such a fun journey sourcing for furniture, endless browsing on carousell, and we’re still slowly putting things together for our home! Here’s a peek into the entryway of our home, as well as our kitchen! The kitchen is truly the heart of our home, and is also the first thing people see when they enter. Our kitchen is functional, with lots of space for prep as we (or just J) cooks a lot! Also peep our collection of mismatched chairs 😛 We have big families, so we knew we needed a large dining table from the get go. We initially looked at different suar wood slabs, but chanced upon this gem of a 2m dining table from SCANTEAK on Carousell. We love chairs, as you can tell from our collection of mismatched chairs — mostly secondhand too! Our living room is mostly modular, with no built-ins! So that we can change up the layout whenever we want haha. The original kitchen had an L-shaped cabinet layout, but we decided to extend our cabinets and shift our sink to the window side so we have much more countertop space. We loved how it turned out, doing dishes and prepping by the window is quite a vibe. To keep things airy and open, we went along with exposed shelving instead of top cabinets. Surprisingly, it’s not too dusty so far! We keep our daily items up there for easy access, I think if I kept them in a cabinet I’ll just end up forgetting about it 🤭 To open up our space, we also hacked one room away and used that as our work space! Pieces of artwork sitting on the floor, waiting to be hung up above our sideboard!
