Welcome back to our home and more specifically, our bedroom!
As we get older, we realise the importance of quality sleep so our bedroom is set up for the ultimate cosy vibes to wind down for the night.
Inspired by the low profile beds from our trip to Japan, we decided not to get a bed frame but instead got our ID to build a platform bed for us. The laminates for our platform are the same as our kitchen carpentry - a dark wood colour to create the cosy feels.
Having a platform bed takes up a lot of the floor space, so our ID also incorporated deep drawers under our bed which we use to store towels, bedsheets and with lots of spare room. We didn’t want to have to lift up our mattress to access the storage below so having drawers was a good alternative for us!
Another feature of our platform bed is the in-built headboard which is flush with the platform and made of the same laminate. There’s an LED strip at the back of the headboard too, which provides soft ambient lighting in the evenings.
In the name of quality sleep, we decided to invest in a Sealy Posturepedic mattress and bedsheets from Heveya — this super combo has given us some of the best sleep we’ve ever had.
At the other end of our platform is a built-in countertop which doubles up as our vanity / display space / more storage. It’s super convenient to sit in front of our wedding mirror decor to put on make up and get ready.
We’ve also placed a full-length mirror at the end of the wardrobe so that it looks less imposing, and also visually lengthens our home as you can also see the mirror from the living room.
that’s it for our simple but cosy bedroom!
See you soon in the next post :-)
