When it came to picking tiles, we had quite a few things to consider. Matte or glossy? Small or big? Turns out, honed tiles hit the perfect balance for us.
Here’s why: matte tiles tend to look nice but can be hard to clean, and glossy ones get scratches and marks really easily. Honed tiles give that smooth, natural stone finish — stylish but practical.
We also learned that really big tiles can “wrap” or bend during installation, causing uneven edges. So we went with 80 x 80 cm — big enough to feel modern and spacious, but not so big that they warp.
From the photos, you can see the tiles being carefully laid out and the progress day by day. It was exciting (and a little nerve-wracking!) watching everything come together.
If you’re deciding on tiles, definitely consider honed finish and a size that won’t give your tiler a headache. For us, 80x80 was the sweet spot!
