Here it is: our long anticipated dining room. It looks straightforward — but really, was far from it. We had to hack a wall, level the floor, and lay/grind/polish new marble to get here…! As we talked about in our earlier posts, we really prioritised the flow between the living, dining and kitchen area, because we saw this as being most optimal for hosting friends and family. I wouldn’t call this a regret, but one of the less conventional things we did was to install a fan above our dining table, instead of pendant lights. This has made dining much more comfortable, especially in Singapore’s oppressing heat and humidity. But the downside is that the dining area tends to get slightly dim during dinner time, without natural light illuminating the space. So if anyone has good ideas on table lamps or standing lamps that would work in this space, please hit us up with your suggestions!
