  • Unpopular opinion: We 🤎 sad beige aesthetics
Homes with neutral colour palettes are now labelled as sad beige aesthetic homes with no personalities. And we’re not ashamed to say that we love ours and we don’t feel sad at all!
It was a conscious decision from the moment we started planning for our home to have a neutral colour palette. Inspired mainly by The Minimalists, Tommy Simple Tokyo Life and Marie Kondo, a simple home with minimal colours is very appealing to us.

🤎🤍Why the sad beige aesthetic works for us:
1. We feel calm and at peace with less visual clutter.
2. It’s a versatile canvas and we can easily change the vibes with small seasonal items or fresh flowers.
3. Our home looks more spacious as neutral colours reflect more light than darker shades.

That said, we were also worried that our home would look like a college dorm so we made sure to pick quality furniture and fixtures (not to forget - an interior designer who we can vibe with)! We also chose warmer tones to avoid looking too sterile.

We are seeing more homes with bright colours and we love how cheery they look! It's not our preference but beautiful and tastefully done nonetheless! What kind of colour palette do you like for your home?
