10 tile trips later… we finally found the one 🧱✨
After countless rounds of —
“the green looks like blue… is this green? why does it look like blue?”,
“can you imagine showering in front of these tiles?”,
“eh this one nicer no?”, and
“can you imagine this tile with our laminate?” —
we found ourselves standing in the middle of multiple showrooms, finger to our temples, eyes shut… trying so hard to visualise our future home 😂
We were hunting for tiles for our kitchen backsplash, counter table leg, and main bedroom toilet.
What we needed - two different type of tiles for main bedroom toilet, kitkat tiles for table leg and tiles for kitchen backsplash.
4 different type of tiles, sounds easy? Simple in theory — but in reality, pure tile chaos.
📍Photo 2: Hafary
Everyone starts here — huge range, showroom goals.
We went to the Eunos outlet and it was packed. Great if you already know what you want, but we were so overwhelmed.
We went to their tradehub21 and lavender outlets too. Yes, we took 6 different trips to Hafary and we stayed at least 2 hours each trip. 😂 At some point, I felt so embarrassed walking into Hafary again 😅
Most of the tiles we liked were out of stock or had long ETAs (2 weeks to a few months 😭).
And being last-minute peeps, we needed ours yesterday.
After the 6th trip, we decided on a kitkat tile we really like for our counter top table but somehow settle for the same tiles for our kitchen backsplash. (Well, something changed along the way 👀 read on 😝)

This showroom is huge just like Hafary. Maybe because we went on a weekday, the showroom was quite empty and quiet which was great for us to slowly browse and walk around.
Tiles here are more affordable than Hafary’s, but we didn’t find “the one”, but good stop if you’re on a tighter budget.
(Not in photo: Lian Seng Hin @ Tradehub — small showroom, limited range, but the aunty who served us was the sweetest 🫶)
📍Photo 4–6: RICE
We found RICE by accident after googling “tile showroom near me.”
Looked super atas from the outside but we went in anyway.
The showroom is significantly smaller than Hafary @ Eunos and Soon Bee Huat @ Toh Guan, so more boutique vibes and lesser tiles selection!
Yes, this is the lift! We wow-ed when we entered 😆
Didn’t have an appointment, but they assigned us a material planner — shoutout to Jack.
He guided us through multiple levels, scanned QR codes to show real-life applications, and even toggled between 6 lighting setups from cool to warm (super helpful since we hadn’t picked our lights yet).
Despite the boutique feel, prices were similar to Hafary’s.
We ended up choosing our main bedroom’s toilet tiles and later switched our backsplash from Hafary to RICE too 💫
After a week of tile chaos, we finally got everything settled 🎉
If you’re shopping for tiles:
✅ Bring samples home & test under your own lighting
✅ Ask about stock early
✅ If you’re buying from different shops, bring your shortlisted tiles to match — don’t rely on imagination like we did 🙃
✅ Don’t rush — your taste will change 😅
✅ Don’t be afraid to change your tiles, you are going to live with them for a long time!
We’re definitely not the most technical people when it comes to tiles — we didn’t do much research about the different ratings 😅
But we really love what we chose! Just make sure to ask your material planner if your selected tiles are suitable for the area you’re using them in (especially for toilets and wet zones!).
