Welcome to another "Why use many words when few do trick" post. Come see our open concept kitchen. Dark wood. White top. Clean. Spacious. Practical. Looks great. And fun. Island is part of kitchen and it will get its own post because it is just that good. 
Look at shiny green tiles. Nice to look at when preparing meals. Happy chef = yummy food. Also nice background for other things. Like poster. Open shelving above is very useful. Can display for fun and functional. And yes you no see wrong, that is vintage hamburger phone. More importantly, everything easy to clean. Good job men. 
This one legit best idea, no gatekeeping. Usually the dish drying rack is above the sink but we had eureka moment and ask our talented ID to design one by the side of sink instead. No more water drip down arms when placing the dishes on it. Actually safer and looks damm good. Upvote many times. And yes, that duck makes soap comes out of beak. Now everyone have fun when staying clean. 
Many kitchen space makes cooking and cleaning very fast and easy. We kid you not. Look into far end of photo for another open shelving. That one currently display our trinkets and random collection. Extra points if you know what is that big X. +420 points to overall kitchen vibes. 
Because we don't have dish rack above sink, we can have more open shelving. Nicer to look at, very fun to customize. Big yay. Today we display craft beer cans. Craft beer is best. Nice to drink, nicer to look at. Free art after. Next month we can display anything else. Pokemon cards maybe. Because we can. Because we have open shelves. This kitchen is serious. But also not serious. It's the best way.
