✨The Truth About Our Kitchen After 3 Years✨

Hi all! Today I’m sharing about our kitchen ,how it’s been after 3 years. The parts we love, the parts we don’t, and all the pros & cons in between. 
Our kitchen layout is a 2-line design, with the sink and stove on opposite sides. We planned for plenty of storage, and most of it is in drawers which has been so handy. The downside of a 2-line kitchen layout is that spills happen a lot when I’m moving chopped items from the prep area or carrying water to cook. If I’m not careful, the floor gets dirty pretty quickly. 
We really love having drawers, it makes reaching for items so much easier without all the bending. Another plus is having plenty of countertop space, perfect for prepping and placing things. But the downside? More space means more clutter 🙈… we tend to leave unnecessary items lying around, and dust builds up easily too. So it takes a bit of discipline to keep it clean and tidy 
We love our magnetic kitchen backing ,it’s so practical to just pop on a magnetic hook and store items within reach. The only downside is if it’s near the stove, you’ll need to wipe more often because of oil splashes. Other than that, it’s super handy and makes grabbing things so easy 
Having a dishwasher is such a plus, especially after big cooking sessions when you’re already overwhelmed,this machine is a real lifesaver. Ours is a loose-type model, which we brought over from our old house. To be honest, I rarely use it sometimes I feel like once I’ve already rinsed the dishes, I might as well just wash them by hand hehe 😅 
Storage was our main priority, so we maximized every little space ,even the small gap under the sink is put to use for storing sponges 
So here’s our loose dishwasher ,we simply asked the carpenter to prepare some openings so we could slot it in here. 
Having a water dispenser near the kitchen entry has been really convenient , it keeps people from walking inside while someone is cooking, so the flow stays smooth. The downside is that we might rely on the machine a bit too much ,so when it has issues, we feel a little lost having to prepare water the old-fashioned way! 
Having a bar counter is definitely a plus! But since we used a live-cut wood slab, the natural, irregular edge makes it a bit uncomfortable to sit as some area are deeper surface some it’s very short not enough leg room. Plus, the height was based on my tall husband, so it’s a little too high for me and the kids 😥 
Here we have extra storage for our water filter tank. Lately, due to the hot and humid weather, the tank often gets condensation, which sometimes triggers false alarms on the filter and stops it from working. 
I love the view from our kitchen , in the morning, I can catch the sunrise, and at night, I can see what the family is watching on TV. I even keep chatting while washing the dishes 😄. Definitely, we love having an open kitchen! 
But again, the countertop is a bit too high for me, so I can’t see what’s happening on the dining table from the sink area. 
So here are our drawers! I’m not naturally a tidy person, but having a good layout and thoughtfully placed items really makes life easier. Hopefully, my sharing can help you in creating your dream kitchen 😊.
