Hello! Welcome to the first of three bathrooms featured in Casito Chan. Our three bathrooms are conceptualized around strong bursts of colour - a contrast to the earthy, neutral tones of the rest of the house. This bathroom was nicknamed The Mermaid's Castle by one of my instagram followers. It's a powder room on the first floor of the masionette. This is the opposite, business end of this very tiny toilet :) The fish scale tiles are actually a retro design, tying back to the vintage influences in the house. However, this toilet has a more "old world luxury" feel to it. As if you've stepped into a retro boutique hotel. Ornate brass fittings and black & white vintage photos were carefully curated to bring this old world feel alive. I managed to find a "hotel style" towel set off Shopee :D This exact one is no longer sold but I linked a similar one. The luxury face towel really helps to up the glam factor. Even the toilet roll holder is ornate brass. And has a little ledge for your handphone. The bathroom cabinet was sourced off Taobao, and came as a set with the mirror. The brass ornate fittings and marble countertop went together with everything really nicely. The fluted panel is a reference to the fluted glass motif in the kitchen. Beside the sink is a little stand housing air freshener and soap. It's functional, but is the final touch to completing that luxury feel.
