The master toilet was inspired by a German bathhouse.
Yes, I went to Germany, walked into a bath house with beautiful wooden walls, warm lighting, and thought: "I'm putting this in my HDB."
The budget? Not quite German spa money. The vibes? Close enough.
Just like the rest of the house, I wanted the bathroom area to be completely flooded with natural light during the day. ☀️🧼 There is nothing better than a space that feels bright, open, and connected to the morning sun. It completely changes the energy of the morning routine! 🌿✨
Bringing the German bathhouse vibe to Singapore! 🇩🇪🛁
When we designed the bathroom, we wanted that serene, authentic bathhouse look. But reality quickly kicked in when we considered the high costs and intense maintenance—especially with our crazy tropical humidity. 🌧️🇸🇬
Real timber inside the wet area was an absolute no-go. Luckily, we found the perfect compromise at Hafary! They carry these incredible "wood-look" tiles that completely match the aesthetic, handle the moisture perfectly, and actually brighten up the entire space. 🪵✨
Manifested the dream bathroom with the see-through glass wall, and it’s officially reality. 🥹🧼
To keep the water bill under control, I limit the tub to at least once a month—or as a special emergency reward after a rough day. Balance is everything! ⚖️🛁
Why I put the sink outside the bathroom! 👇🔮
1️⃣ Morning routine with a view. ✨
2️⃣ Way more countertop space for towels and skincare essentials.
3️⃣ Keeps the actual toilet area completely clutter-free.
Easily one of the best layout decisions I made! 💯🏡
