We bought a 5room BTO, with a 30k reno budget. We knew we had to fill up the space with larger furnitures because we had so much space! But we were not going to overspend. Staying in the west has its perks - we were just 15mins away from Tuas checkpoint! So while our house was on reno, we made it a point to cross the border to source for furnitures. We made a trip to JB every. single. weekend. It was exhausting, but in the end SO WORTH IT! Here’s what we got: 1) Lightings and Fans - we bought ALL of them (every single light bulb, LEDs, fans in all rooms) from Tampoi Lightings. They had a wide range of selection! 2) Dining Table & Chairs, Coffee Table, TV Console - we got ALL of them for less than $3K SGD from Ruma Home. We went to their outlet/show room in Paradigm Mall. We loved everything about their catalogue and also service! 3) Sofa - from V Haus Living. If you are into MUJI concepts, they have everything. Free delivery to SG too! Just gotta pay the taxes. 4) Carpet/rug, Curtains, Mirror - IKEA Tebrau. IKEA in Malaysia is generally cheaper than SG, even though just by a few dollars/ringgit, every cent counts! 5) 40x40” Kaabah frame - this beautiful centre piece was a commissioned one by a Malaysian artist, Aiman Ariff (ig: @aimanariff.studio). We had it shipped over to us. This piece stands out each time someone visits our home. Worth the price!
