When designing my home, one of my key priorities was creating smart storage solutions that not only keep things organised but also blend seamlessly with the overall aesthetic. The dry pantry area, in particular, was where I wanted to make the most of every inch of space.

Rather than relying on standard off-the-shelf cabinets, I worked with my designer to build customised carpentry tailored to our lifestyle. This allowed us to carve out a dedicated storage zone that keeps the pantry sleek, clutter-free, and highly functional.

One of the highlights of this carpentry is a customised compartment for my vacuum cleaner and robot vacuum. These appliances are essentials in our daily routine, but they can often feel like awkward items to store. By designing specific slots with proper charging points and easy access, I was able to tuck them neatly out of sight while still ensuring they’re always ready to use. Beyond the appliance storage, the carpentry also incorporates tall cabinets and flexible shelvings that can be moved around, helping to maximise vertical space. Everyday pantry items and small kitchen appliances are neatly organised behind clean lines, giving the area a modern, streamlined look. What I love most about this setup is how intentional it feels. Instead of having cleaning tools and pantry items scattered around, everything has its own designated place. The result is not just a pantry—it’s a multi-functional storage hub that balances practicality with aesthetics. This reminded me that good design isn’t just about how a space looks, but how well it works for the way you live.
