Splurge or save? Things we need to replace after 3 years!

Our Alaska fan died a couple of months ago. It made beeping sounds and wouldn’t move when we tried to turn it on with the remote. Checked with the company and it isn’t worth it to get it evaluated and repaired so I tried buying a universal fan remote from shopee. Sad to report that it didn’t work! This fan costed us $300+ so it’s not the cheapest and we didn’t even use it everyday. Concluded that we’ll just buy a cheap fan next, since even a “branded” one spoils so fast. Recommendations are welcome! 
This rain shower set was a cheap one from Shopee. It was good for like the first year 😂 
Started falling apart haha. Concluded that it’s worth it to splurge more on a reputable brand for a shower set! Not worth the hassle of getting a new one plus installation. Plus, it’s something that we do everyday so shower time should be a pleasant experience! 
Same goes for this tap in the common toilet which we got from Shopee. For black sanitary ware, cheap definitely is not recommended. The black coating comes off easily so we can’t even scrub when cleaning cos the paint will come off too. I’m not sure if branded wares won’t have this issue so we are just going to avoid getting black taps and shower set from now on. And no more being a cheapo when it comes to sanitary ware 🤣 because we’ll save in the long run by getting something that lasts!
