Small but functional: the barely there service yard that works

When you’ve got no designated service yard in your home layout so you’ve got to hack the space you have. 
Our service yard sits snugly wedged in the corner between our kitchen and common bathroom. The service yard here also houses the rubbish chute. With the tight space we have, we decided to keep it simple. Bamboo poles on top, just a washing machine, and a stool because Mrs Gangsagem is a shorty. 
Both of us are only at home at night due to our longer work hours so we opted to stick to indoor drying with our bamboo pole. We do get some sun in the morning, but there’s otherwise not much direct sunlight for our unit. 
To make storing any necessities convenient, we do have a drawer on wheels for our washing machine needs: think colour absorbing sheets and washing machine cleaning powder. 
We also have a big bin here (close to the rubbish chute) as well as some of our other cleaning equipment: small dust pan, window cleaner, broom. 
On days when there’s too much laundry, this is what our service yard will look like. We do leave it up for almost the entire day so it dries well without any damp smells.
