Ok guys, we’re back! Did you miss us? ‘Cause we missed you! *cue Kim K’s voiceover* Hahahaha ok but all jokes aside, we’re excited to be back again for another season!🥹🫶🏻 In this season, we’ll be sharing styling details of our home and some tips as well hehe. In this post, we’ll be focusing on our Billy shelf. So if you’ve got open shelves in your house or any shelf and not sure how to style it, this one’s for you. But how do you make sure it’s not just storage disaster vibes? Here are 7 tips to make your shelves look like a million bucks (even if you spent less than that, no worries lah, we don’t judge hehehe).😉 Disclaimer: we’re not styling experts or claim to be, just sharing based on our experience and journey.❤️ 
1. Mix & Match, Don’t Just Stack! Don’t just dump everything on the shelf. Mix up textures, shapes, and colours. For example, throw in some ceramic pieces, candle holders, and maybe a few cute plants. This creates visual interest—like a chef’s kiss combo.😙 And yes I realise the book says “fashon” instead of “fashion” lol. Like I said, we don’t judge…🤫 
2. Play With Height Stack things at different heights—tall vases, short books, something in between. If everything is on one level, it’ll look like a flat pancake, right? Need some height variance for a dynamic feel. 
3. Go for Functional + Pretty You want your shelves to look chio, but don’t forget they can also be useful. A good way is to balance pretty decor with practical items like pretty baskets, trays, and holders to keep messy small items out of sight. Chio and useful = perfect! 
4. Leave Some Breathing Space Don’t overcrowd your shelves! You need some empty space for the eye to rest. A cluttered shelf can make the room feel suffocating. Leave gaps where you can, maybe with a statement item in the center—something that pops. 
5. Group Like with Like Don’t make it messy, group things in threes or fives. Can also put items that comes as a set together. You know how the rule works—odd numbers and matching sets are more pleasing to the eye (also satisfies the OCD in us hahaha). Put your books together, maybe add a candle or two for that cozy, atas vibe. 
6. Add Some Greenery No need to be a plant expert lah, just pop in a few easy-to-care-for plants like pothos or snake plants. If you’re scared that the plant will die, use a fake plant also can (like us hehe). Trust me, a bit of greenery will make the space feel so much livelier. Plus, plants are like the instant filter for your shelf photos.✨ 
7. Personalise It Put in items that reflect you. Maybe a cute family photo, or a souvenir from your last holiday. It’s the little touches that’ll make your shelves feel like home, not some random show flat. Keep it real!

Styling your open shelves doesn’t have to be stressful—just be yourself, mix things up, and soon you’ll have a shelf that’s as stylish as your favourite influencer’s feed.🤭 Bonus photo is a hand drawn picture of our fur babies.
