Setting up your home: Why You Don’t Need to Rush to Buy These Items

We learnt from our home journey that there’s no need to rush out and buy everything right away. In fact, some items are best bought after we have settled in and figured out what we really need. Here are a few things we found are better to wait on until after you’ve moved in and have a better sense of your space and lifestyle. 
1. Coffee table Why wait? You can easily make do with a temporary table or nothing at all while you get settled. A coffee table is something you’ll want to choose carefully based on your living room layout and style.

3. Non-Essential Kitchen Appliances Why wait? It’s tempting to buy all those fancy kitchen gadgets (air fryer, espresso machine, etc.) right away, but they’re not essential. Stick to the basics at first and wait to see what you actually use most often as you start cooking. We held off on buying specialty appliances until we had lived in the home for a few months and could think through which ones would genuinely make a difference in our daily routine. 
4. Random home decor It’s easy to get excited and start buying décor before you’ve even moved in, but it’s hard to know what will actually fit or suit the space. Lighting, layout, and room flow all become clearer once you’re actually living there. We waited a bit before purchasing decorative pieces so we could understand the home’s vibe and choose items that truly enhanced the space rather than ending up with random things that didn’t work. Final Thoughts - We found that rushing to buy everything before moving in just adds unnecessary stress. Take your time with non-essential items, and let your space come together naturally. You’ll know exactly what you need once you’ve settled in and started living there!
