After living in our renovated home for a while, we’ve learned a lot of lessons that aren’t often talked about. Here is part one of our renovation hits and misses.
We decided to install the storage heater in the service yard instead of the bathroom. This simple change made our bathroom feel more spacious and opened up more usable area. Small decisions like this can really make a big difference.
We created customised drawers to neatly hide our appliances. Not only does this make the kitchen and service yard look cleaner, it also helps with organisation and keeps things out of sight.
We initially chose a bifold door, thinking it would be space-saving. In hindsight, a sliding door would have been a better choice. It is easier to use and feels more practical for daily living.
We did not install lights on the outer side of the cupboards. This makes the area darker than we expected. Adding lights would have made the space brighter and more functional, especially when accessing the drawers.
Renovation is a journey full of learning moments. What are your hits and misses? Share them with us in the comments, we would love to hear your stories.
