Appliances hits and misses.
We have been staying in our home for 11 months now and it is time to review our appliances!
First appliance is our TV. our TV is from LG, the 65 inch OLED evo G3 smart TV.
From the start we already knew we only wanted an LG TV due to its smart remote where you can navigate it like a mouse and using it in my parents and his parents house, its very unproblematic compare to other brands.
The husband also specifically pointed out that he wanted the G model which is one of the higher tiers TV due to how slim the TV is and it can be flushed completely onto the wall.
While we knew what we wanted, the price of the model G4 (released in 2024) were extremely high about 5k+ 6k and we decided to look for older models instead!
Thankfully we found a last set at Best Denki at Hillion while just passing by and got it at only $2999!
On top of that we also got our soundbar which was $499 (combo price with the tv).
Functionality wise, we use both appliances EVERYDAY and they have yet to fail us. 9/10.
Would i opt for a cheaper TV from LG? maybe yes. I dont see how the slimness of the TV affects the home aesthetics but at this price, I would still buy the G3!
Next appliance is our robot vacuum. We got the Roborock Qvero S at the comex fair in 2024 at $719. not the lowest price I've seen but considering how we have scheduled it to run 5 days a week for 11 months, we definitely already broke even!
I'd rate it an 7/10. While it vacuums and mops well, like any robot vacuum, it misses little corners and areas (sometimes trap itself somewhere). Also maintenance is quite a hassle. We opted for this model Qvero S where we have to manually top up clean water and discard dirty water since there is no water pipe and outlet for the machine. Some days we only realise we have to change it when we find out the floors are not mopped. Also sometimes the machine drags dust and hair all around the house.
We also have a wine fridge from Mayer which holds 28 bottles. our wine fridge is always full. I love how we can change the temperature to adjust for white/red wines. 9/10. Should have gotten a bigger one!
Our beloved kitchen appliances!
First, our multifunction oven which can microwave, bake, grill and steam. 9/10. A friend gifted this to us a year before we moved in and this is life changing! I love the steamer function the most.
We have bought frozen dimsum and steamed them for guests and ourselves and also used it to heat up our foods without making them dry like the microwave does!
We initially were not too sure what we were looking for in a fridge but this particular fridge from Mitsubishi has isolated airflow especially for the freezer which really sealed the deal for us. Imagine having frozen fish in your freezer and your ice starts to taste/smells funny? Not with this fridge. 10/10! The fridge also feels alot bigger than it looks. we have not maxed out the fridge potential so far!
Our Mayer glass airfryer which is always out of stock. 8/10 Nuff said. Its good because the glass basket has no extra coating (non-stick) which is better for health. The glass basket is extremely heavy but I got used to cleaning and washing it already! still very convenient and comes with many pre-set settings for you to choose from!
Last but not least, the famous Philips Rice Cooker 5/10.
While my rice is always cooked perfectly, the rice pot coating underneath has rusted in less than 4 months. We saw its $40 to change the pot so we havent done it yet but if we see the rust on the inside then I guess we'll have to change it. quite a bummer I must say!
Our dishwasher which our guests are envious of. To be honest, most of the time when we host, we do hotpots so there are lots of dishes to wash. Our guests usually feel abit better that there's a dishwasher in the house, us too!
This LG dish washer was chosen by the husband because he was convinced by the functions (that we dont really use). Do i like having a dishwasher? yes. do i need a 1.7k one? maybe not....
so far it has done an excellent job at washing the dishes though. 8/10! we never had to worry about tough stains or dishes still being greasy!
Clearly we got an LG home.
Our LG washing machine deserves a 10/10 based on how much we work it. We bought a smart one so we can actually remotely start the washing!
this is a washer cum dryer and we actually haven't utilised the dryer much! but we decided to buy a slightly bigger one so that we dont have do laundry as often. so far so good!
In our service yard we also have our Kyson Expert. This is something we chose over the usual Steigen. We heard that Steigen heating function uses quite a lot of electricity. For Kyson we dont have such an issue so we are very satisfied with our choice. 9/10
Our storage heater Ariston. We bought the slim one and topped up for SMART functions but its not smart at all. We now use it as a normal water heater - turn switch on to use. 6/10 for a smart water heater but 8/10 as a normal water heater.
We used our climate voucher to cart this. Don't. Buy. This.
2/10.
as a fan, you can barely feel the wind.
as an air purifier, im not sure it works well.... our room remains dusty even with this on.
Would not recommend to purchase this!
