It’s the time of the year where we review what good stuff we spent our money on this year (and try not to think about what we wasted our money on 🤣)
So here are our top few buys of the year - hopefully it inspires your shopping cart for next year too!
This TWEMCO clock has been on our wish list for a while - and we’re so happy we finally got our hands on it! It might be a little pricey but it’s super pretty and we love the sound it makes when the cards inside flip :)
We keep it on our tv console to remind ourselves of the time, especially when we’re still busy watching Netflix at 1am the day before work… 🤪
Not really a must buy, but it’s definitely added a lot of aesthetic value to our living room.
Yes - it’s a coffee machine from Taobao and it works :) scored this beautiful machine during the 11.11 sale for less than $400 with free shipping and we’ve been trying to be baristas ever since!
We can’t say whether it’s the best coffee machine ever since it’s our first coffee machine, but it grinds the beans and makes a good espresso so we have no complaints
Next up, these small bowls from Nitori!
We’ve been using these in replacement of the traditional rice bowls because they are slightly bigger and more convenient when we’re eating rice + dishes!
We find them easier to eat from as they are not as “restrictive” as the usual rice bowl because of the wider brim. Plus they are dishwasher friendly too AND the colours are so pleasing - what more could you want in a bowl?
Everyone we know has the fake grass mat in front of their house but we wanted something… smoother so we got this PVC mat from Taobao instead!
It may not be as warm and cosy as fake grass but it’s been pretty easy to clean (just wipe over with a wet wipe/cleaning wipe!) and can easily be rolled up during block washing day.
Plus it’s thick enough to feel like a proper mat but not too thick that it can’t fit under our gate - we tried to install the plastic decking before but couldn’t find any thin enough to fit under the gate (
This is an all-in-one super useful cup - it comes with a detachable spoon that locks in INSIDE the cup so you don’t have to walk around holding your dirty spoon
(Honestly, Duck thought this invention was pure genius)
You can also use it as just a mug with a lid (and remove the spoon). So far we’ve used it for overnight oats, dessert, even to store pre-cut fruits which we can just eat later without having to find bowls and cutlery. 100 % useful and very cute too! (and did I mention it’s dishwasher safe as well?)
