Our dining area is a shared space with the dry pantry area. We didnt opt for a nice display shelvings or niche for photos instead we build a tall cabinet for storage. Special highlight is the expandable dining table. It can be expanded when there are 6 pax when we are hosting guests. 
For the dining table we opt for sintered stone table top since the material is stain/scratch proof. Interestingly this table is extendable which saves space when it is just 2 of us using the table and it is easily convertible when we are hosting. Cost of the dining table is about 1.2k. Ikea jar with tap is a good water dispenser especially when u want to prepare drinks for your guest. Worth getting it!
