Hello today we will be sharing all about our post-reno cleaning tips!
Our post-reno cleaning by ID was honestly quite a disappointing one. It was just 1 worker using a cloth and some liquid to wipe the floors. We also still had some items unboxed which were all super dusty 😷
By the end of the cleaning, the tiles were still very sandy and there were still a lot of paint/cement marks everywhere which we had to ask them to return to rectify 😓
Luckily we have bought a Karcher spray extraction vacuum cleaner earlier at $400+ (with our other Harvey Norman group buy appliances) which we really put into good use! It honestly feels even more effective than the cleaning by ID, plus on par with actual professional post-reno cleaning services out there which is going to cost you a lot more.
Really a good buy!! We can even use this to vacuum our sofa, mattress and carpets in future or for deep cleaning once in a while.
Before we use the Karcher, we usually try to sweep the larger particles away first or even use the Magic Clean wiping stick for a simple round of cleaning so as not to damage/clog up the vacuum.
We have these bought during reno and we actually do this almost every week when we visited site after the first round of cleaning and painting were done 😅
Posttttt reno and after moving in, there is lesser dust from our house itself except from our neighbors’ reno so we use our Dyson vacuum and mop on a regular basis.
We don’t own a robot vacuum as we simply don’t have enough space for it in our kitchen/service yard anymore especially if we want to run the water inlet/outlet pipes to it. So we decided to skip on that and save some money.
This is a perfect place for our Dyson vacuum and mop, as we can easily dry its parts here under the direct sunlight 😂
