A quick peek at how we make sure every item fits perfectly into our home’s spaces.
#1. For large pieces of furniture like a sofa, we measured the space carefully, taking into account other items in the room, to ensure everything fits well and looks proportionate—not too big or too small.
#2. We only buy smaller furniture slowly after moving in and after putting together all the bigger items in the house.
The space beside our king-size bed was measured again after setting it up, and only then we bought the bedside table. At just 30 cm wide, it fits perfectly in the gap between the bed and the curtains.
To make use of the narrow gap between the washing machine and the wall, we bought a vertical three-tier tray, just 13 cm wide. It fits perfectly in the space and is just the right size to hold our laundry detergents.
