Hello from our service yard! 
One of the reasons why we bought our unit was because we were able to have a dedicated service yard. With a glass door separating it from our kitchen, we won't need to keep our laundry whenever we cook. 
Initially, we chose full glass doors, but later swapped the lower half for fluted glass to match the design in other parts of our home. This also allows plenty of natural light into our kitchen. 
Since we have good wind flow and some morning sun in our service yard, we didn't need to splurge on a high end branded laundry rack. And our Shopee laundry rack is working just fine for us - it comes with heating and wind functions but we've barely had to use them. Tip: When choosing a laundry rack, be sure to look into its weight capacity, and whether it's large/ sturdy enough to hang bedsheets. Laundry racks with double scissors arms would provide more stability too. 
We got a nice cabinet (from Hipvan!) to store our cleaning supplies. The woven basket helps to keep our smaller items like laundry nets and clothes pegs tucked away, while adding a Mediterranean touch to our service yard. 
And not forgetting our dual laundry basket - it's super useful for us to separate our whites and colours. Each section has handles, making it easy to carry our load of laundry directly to the washing machine. 
On the other side of the service yard, we built a tall cabinet beside our washing machine to hide our handheld vacuum and other cleaning tools. 
We also added a hidden charging port inside for convenience! 
Lastly, one of my favorite Shopee finds is this magnetic hanger rack that can be attached to the side of the washing machine. It keeps our hangers neatly hidden but always within easy reach. Thanks for reading till the end, and follow us on Instagram (@_firstoctober) for more home inspiration!
